Overview

ACSA is procuring PROFESSIONAL SERVICES FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE POWER FACTOR CORRECTION FOR A PERIOD OF THREE (3) YEARS AT AIRPORTS COMPANY SOUTH AFRICA KING PHALO AIRPORT & CHIEF DAWID STUURMAN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. Bidders should be electrical engineering consultancies with NEC3 PSC experience, capable of delivering design, procurement, project management and contract administration for PF correction across two airports.

Requirements

• Experience delivering power factor correction system design projects; provide reference letters with scope, contract value, and contact details (minimum 2 letters; 3+ yields higher scores).
• Roles require a Project Manager and a Project Engineer with specified experience in MV/LV works or PF correction; CVs with dates and references.
• Education and professional registration: BEng/BSc in Electrical/Electronics (NQF7+) or BTech (NQF6) with Professional registration with ECSA.
• Demonstrable experience in energy-saving design projects; CVs with projects and client references.
• Mandatory documents: tax compliance (SARS PIN or CSD number), Central Supplier Database entry, BBBEE/affidavit, COIDA letter, confidentiality agreement, and other returnables listed by ACSA.
• Financial/commercial: prices fixed for contract duration; adherence to NEC3 PSC with specified data (Option A, W1, X1, X7, X11, X13, X18, Z clauses).
• Insurance: Professional Indemnity R5 million, Public Liability R10 million, COIDA coverage; provide certificates.
• Minimum overall score: 60 points to be considered further.
• Site access and safety: ensure site access requirements and safety compliance as per site protocols.

• Briefing: mandatory briefing 30 July 2026, 10:00 at King Phalo Airport Information Help Desk (RFQ 16798).
• Required registrations/pre-qualifications: Tax Compliance Status (SARS TCS PIN), CSD where applicable, and other mandatory returnables listed in the RFQ (RFQ 16798).
• Documents to submit: all official bid forms (SBDs as applicable), SBD 3.3 priced offer, SBD 4, SBD 6.1, confidentiality/non-disclosure, BBBEE documentation, COIDA letter, CSD, VAT/Tax details, and Form of Offer (RFQ 16798).
