Overview

The Provision of Catering Services at the uMzimkhulu site for a period of 36 months. The contract targets on-campus catering for about 432 students, suitable for experienced catering providers with food-safety training, OH&S compliance, and capacity for campus-scale meal delivery. Bidders must register with PURCO SA and submit online via the PURCO SA Supplier Hub; the contract runs for three years with local-supplier preference and VAT compliance requirements.

Requirements

• Pre-qualification: mandatory documentation (initials on each page, fully signed tech specs and pricing) and attachments as listed.
• Financial/compliance documents: bank letter; certified company registration; directors’ IDs; SARS Tax Compliance Status; VAT registration; Bank Rating Letter; SBD forms (SBD1, SBD4, SBD6.1); board resolution if not a sole proprietor; Declaration of Interest; CSD full report; COIDA certificate; Certificate of Food Acceptability (COA).
• Qualifications: BBBEE certificate or affidavit; proof of locality; proof of vehicle ownership or rental capability; Audited/standard financial statements for the last 2 years.
• Evaluation: minimum 70% functionality to progress; emphasis on references (3+), risk/contingency plans, experience, locality, internal capacity/training, fleet capability, and financials.
• Scope: catering for breakfast, lunch, and supper with specified portions; compliance with OHSA Act and college hygiene requirements; equipment, uniforms, and maintenance responsibilities; rental and insurance obligations; open kitchen hours; waste/removal; formal complaints handling; ethical conduct and alignment with college policies. VAT note: only VAT-registered suppliers may charge 15% VAT.
