Overview

Provision of venue, accommodation, and catering services for the CSIR NICIS National Student Competitions (4 days) in the Western Cape or Gauteng. Potential bidders are venue operators, educational facilities/universities, and catering/accommodation providers with capacity for ~140 attendees per day, 120 student accommodation, and on-site IT/network support, security, and logistics across two provinces.

Requirements

• Ability to provide venue with ~500 m2 floorspace, 70 trestle tables, 156 chairs, plus associated catering, accommodation, and security needs for 4 days (Day 0–Day 5) including awards.
• On-site accommodation for ~120 students and full catering (halal/vegan options) with a full daily meal schedule; 24-hour security, CCTV, and secure storerooms.
• Network/IT: SANReN access, eduroam/guest WiFi, at least 3 LAN points, and on-site IT/LAN support.
• Power: backup generator and fuel; appropriate electrical capacity for competition equipment.
• Returnables/administration: submit Annexure A/B/C/D/E/F (SBD forms, pricing schedule, NDA, and BBBEE documentation) and provide evidence of venue ownership/availability.
• Compliance: be tax compliant (SARS TCS PIN or CSD registration) and comply with CSIR procurement rules; no NT tender defaulters; maintain confidentiality per NDA.
• Evaluation: 80/20 price-preference weighting; up to 20 preference points for specific goals; CSIR may award to multiple bidders; extendable closing date at CSIR’s discretion.
