THE SUPPLY OF BACKGROUND SCREENING SERVICES FOR A PERIOD OF 12 MONTHS

Overview

The supply of background screening services for a 12-month period to Ushaka Marine World. Quotations are invited from service providers registered on the Central Supplier Database (CSD) and the eThekwini Supplier Portal, with capability to perform vetting (including criminal, employment, and credit checks) via an AFIS-enabled platform. Bidders must provide tax clearance or SARS PIN/TCS, and foreign suppliers must complete a pre-award questionnaire. Submissions are by sealed envelope.

Requirements

• Must be registered on CSD and eThekwini Supplier Portal; provide tax clearance status or TCS PIN/CSD; comply with SARS requirements; foreign suppliers must complete pre-award questionnaire.
• Must have access to an AFIS-enabled vetting platform; no middleman; Ushaka must have access to capture candidate details on the provider’s platform.
• Service provider must be legally able to perform background screening, including verification of qualifications, criminal history, employment history, and drivers license verification; must reflect all service types/levels in the quotation.
• Respondents must submit MBD forms (MBD1, MBD4, MBD6.1, MBD8, MBD9) and, if awarded, sign MBD7.2; stage admin compliance requires latest CSD report and proof of AFIS access; BBBEE considerations apply for consortia (and separate TCS/CSD for each party).
• Evaluation will consider administrative compliance, mandatory requirements, price and specific-goal preferences (80/20 or 90/10 as applicable).

How to Apply

• Submit completed quotation documents in sealed envelopes to the Guest Information Centre, 1 King Shaka Avenue, Ushaka Marine, Durban 4000; quotations opened in public.
• Use official forms (not re-typed) or online submissions; include tax clearance status or PIN, CSD number, and AFIS access proof. For foreign suppliers, complete Part B pre-award questionnaire; if consortium, provide separate TCS/CSD for each party (Main Tender Document: ld-902.pdf).
• If successful, contract will be governed by MBD7.2; payment terms are 30 days after invoice.
