THREE YEAR FRAMEWORK AGREEMENT FOR SUPPLY OF TREATED WOODEN POLES (LOCAL MANUFACTURERS ONLY)

Overview

Three-year framework agreement for the supply of treated wooden poles (local manufacturers only). Kenya Power invites bids from eligible Kenyan manufacturers to supply treated wooden poles under a Framework Agreement for three years. The local manufacturing requirement allows only Kenyan producers; joint ventures are permitted with exemptions under Kenyan competition law. Bidders must be eligible to bid in public procurement, comply with PPADA and applicable laws, and provide evidence such as a current tax clearance where applicable.

Requirements

• Local manufacturing requirement: only Kenyan manufacturers may participate.
• Eligibility and integrity: meet general eligibility criteria, not insolvent/debarred, fulfill tax obligations, no corrupt practices, compliant with Competition Act.
• Joint ventures: permitted with exemptions; all members jointly liable; JV to seek exemption if awarded.
• Manufacturer authorization: if the bidder does not manufacture the goods itself, provide Manufacturer’s Authorization and related confirmations.
• Other: avoid conflicts of interest; provide origin/conformity evidence and tax clearance as required.

• Deadline: 19 November 2026 at 08:00, with electronic submission via the KPLC E-procurement Portal (RFx 1000003314); watch for addenda.
• Submission method: online through KPLC e-procurement portal.
• Documents: Form of Tender, Price Schedules, Tender Security or Declaration, Joint Venture Agreement (if applicable), Manufacturer’s Authorization (if applicable), tax clearance evidence, eligibility and conformity documents as per ITT/Section II–IV.
• Pre-bid: no pre-bid meeting; clarifications in writing; addenda issued as needed.
• Where to obtain: tender documents on the KPLC E-Procurement Portal (RFx 1000003314) and via www.kplc.co.ke.

Prices must be quoted in Kenyan Shillings and remain valid for 210 days from the closing date; VAT is treated as specified in the tender rules.
