Overview

Provision of guarding/security services for the South African Post Office in the Eastern Cape Province for up to 12 months (month-to-month), including armed and unarmed guarding, electronic patrol monitoring, a dedicated control room and armoury, and related security infrastructure. Suitable for security service providers with PSIRA registration, a footprint in the Eastern Cape, and the ability to supply full pricing across all SAPO facilities in the region.

Requirements

• PSIRA registration for at least 1 year prior to bid closing; valid PSIRA certificate and PSIRA Good Standing.
• PSIRA Statement of Good Standing in the bidding company’s name (valid on bid closing).
• Evidence of guarding experience: minimum 1 year in the past 2 years (Annexure BR client proof).
• Operational footprint in the Province: at least one Branch with Secure Firearm Vault/Armoury and dedicated Secure Control Room (proof of address).
• Firearm competence: Firearm Competency Certificate for Armoury Manager; Firearm Handling Procedure; Firearms permits; Firearms Inventory Register.
• SBD1/SBD4 forms; Tax compliance (SARS PIN or TCS; CSD number if no TCS); CSD registration.
• BBBEE: 51% Black-owned, 51% Youth-owned, 51% Women-owned, 1% Disabled-owned (with required BBBEE documentation).
• Pricing Schedule (Annexure A) fully completed; include ad hoc rates; 12-hour shift pricing.
• Confidentiality and non-disclosure obligations (Confidentiality Agreement).
• Due diligence readiness on facilities, control room, armoury and firearm management processes (Annexure BR/BC elements).

• Closing: 14 July 2026 at 11:00; bids hand-delivered to SAPO Supply Chain Management, Cnr James Drive & Moreleta Street, Silverton 0184; sealed proposals with bidder name, description, RFP number, closing date/time, and contact.
• Submission format: one original plus loose-leaf copy, plus a USB; if a consortium, each party must supply BBBEE documentation (SBD forms and pricing in Annexure A) (RFP 26-27-04, Section 5).
