Overview

The Eastern Cape Department of Public Works and Infrastructure seeks a two-year contract to supply, service, repair and maintain electrical equipment for Amathole District and Buffalo City Metro Cluster Four. Suitable bidders are CIDB-graded contractors (3EB or higher) with proven electrical maintenance capability and appropriately certified personnel (e.g., wireman’s licence or electrician trade-tested), able to operate under NEC3 TERM SERVICE CONTRACT terms. Requirements

• CIDB: minimum 3EB or higher EB class; lead partner must meet EB grade if a joint venture.
• CIDB registration: active status; proof required.
• Legal/structural: registered as a legal entity or JV/consortium; JV agreements required where applicable.
• Returnable documents: at least 3 project references, completion certificates, fully completed SBD forms (SBD 1, SBD 4, SBD 6.1), priced BOQ and Final Summary, record of addenda.
• Qualifications: certified wireman/licence or electrician trade test; SAQA evaluation for foreign qualifications; certified ID copy of technician.
• Compliance: tax matters in order; CSD registration; POPIA consent; local content declarations (100% local content for specified sectors).
• By policy: compliance with CIDB, VAT status as required, and refused if conflict of interest or inappropriate state relationships exist.
• Other: compulsory enterprise questionnaire; company profile and resources; disclosure of pending litigation; insurance/compensation requirements.
