Overview

This is a prequalification for the Upgrading of Samatar-Wajir (A13) Road (90 km) in Wajir County, Kenya, including bridges and box culverts. The works are funded by multiple lenders (KFAED, SFD, OFID, BADEA, GoK) and KeNHA seeks prequalified bidders to proceed to the bidding stage. Requirements

• Eligible bidders: private entities, government-owned entities, or joint ventures; JV members are jointly and severally liable.
• No conflicts of interest; compliance with fraud and corruption controls.
• Nationality and eligibility: bidders must meet funding-agency rules and any domestic-preference rules as applicable.
• No suspension or debarment by the Employer or major development banks.
• Site visit and pre-bid meeting are mandatory; attendance confirmed via specified certificates.
• Bid security (3% of the estimated bid amount, in specified currency) required with bids (for the subsequent bid stage).
• Evidence of eligibility and qualifications required; joint venture documentation if applicable.
• Materials/equipment origin may be requested; bidders must prove origin as needed.
• Bidding is open to shortlisted bidders listed in the invitation (see document).

How to Apply

• Attend mandatory Site Visit: 29 July 2026, 11:00 (Habaswein Police Station) (PREQUALIFICATION LETTER).
• Attend mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting: 4 August 2026, 11:00 (virtual; link to be shared) (PREQUALIFICATION LETTER).
• Prepare documentary evidence of eligibility and qualifications as per Bidding Documents.
• Submit prequalification responses in sealed envelopes by 1 September 2026, 11:00 local time, to: Deputy Director – Supply Chain Management, KeNHA, Barabara Plaza, JKIA area, Nairobi, Kenya.
• Submissions must be in a single envelope containing an “Original” and required “Copies”; separate envelopes for components as applicable (see ITB formats in Volume 1).
• Electronic submission is not permitted for the prequalification stage (as per invitation).
• For bidding, the bid security is 3% of the estimated amount; ensure forms and JV documentation are complete.
