Overview

RFQ BS 796 for fabrication and installation of timber stick panels at Ushaka Marine World’s main entrance. Bidders must be registered on the Central Supplier Database (CSD) and eThekwini Supplier Portal, with timber carpentry/construction experience; CIDB 1GB or higher; and valid tax compliance (including TCS PIN). Requirements

• Administrative compliance: Latest CSD report; fully completed MBD forms (MBD1, MBD4, MBD6.1, MBD8, MBD9); offer on company letterhead; COIDA good standing; CIDB 1GB+; minimum 3 references for timber works.
• Tax/compliance: Tax clearance or SARS PIN/TCS; if foreign, Part B questions apply; separate TCS for joint ventures/consortia; if no TCS, provide CSD number.
• Specific site and safety: Induction before work; comply with Occupational Health and Safety Act; submit a safety file prior to starting; minimize disruption; after-hours work provisions; hoarding and signage provided by contractor; site must be clean daily.
• Technical/Material: Stick laths 20–50mm diameter, ~1300mm height; backing frame 76x38mm CCA pine; two 27m panels; stainless steel screws; pre-drilled pilot holes; oil/sealant to match existing; no cracked sticks; certificates for treated timber.
