Overview

Procurement of verification and calibration of existing flow meters at Northern Works (computer based), including in-situ verification, accuracy testing within 5%, and issuing verified certificates and reports. Bidders should have flow metrology/calibration expertise, SANAS-accredited capabilities for clamp-on ultrasonic meters on closed conduits and level gauges on open channels, and be prepared to operate at Johannesburg Water’s Northern Works (Diepsloot, R511±8 km north of Fourways). Requirements

• Attended compulsory briefing session (mandatory).
• Provide proof of one completed flow meter calibration project (completion certificate or client reference letter on letterhead).
• Certified Metrologist certificate in liquid flow metrology.
• SANAS calibration certificate for clamp-on ultrasonic flow meters (closed conduits) and for level gauge/meter on open channels prior to starting verification.
• Scope covers multiple meters across Units 1–5 with open-channel and in-line meters; all verifications/calibrations to be within 5% error tolerance; deliver reports and certificates per meter.
• Administrative: output on PDF on company letterhead; attach datasheets, proof of certification, accreditation, etc.; no RFQ from state employees; no blacklisted bidders; POPIA/privacy considerations apply.
• Mandatory documents (returnable): tax clearance, BBBEE certificate or sworn affidavit, CSD registration, lease or municipal account not older than 3 months, MBD forms (Declaration of Interest, Past SCM practices, Independent Bid Determination, etc.), pricing on the MBD3.1 schedule.
• Compliance: comply with PPPFA 2022 (80/20 or 90/10, depending on value) and specific goals; lowest acceptable tender guides points allocation.
