Overview

Water metering project for the eThekwini Municipality area of supply for a period of 36 months, involving investigation, maintenance or replacement of municipal water meters and related reticulation works. Open to CIDB 7 CE (or higher) contractors with relevant water/utility construction experience; bidders must be registered on the eThekwini Supplier Portal and the National Treasury Central Supplier Database, and comply with tax, BBBEE and COIDA requirements.

Requirements

• CIDB contractor grading designation: 7 CE (or higher).
• Registration on: eThekwini Supplier Portal and Central Supplier Database; taxes, BBBEE, and related pre-qualifications must be current.
• Financials: Audited statements required if tender value exceeds R10 million (incl. VAT).
• Compliance: Municipal rates/taxes clear; up-to-date CSD data; valid CIDB/B-BBEE/tax statuses at closing.
• Safety: Adhere to Site Specific Health & Safety Specification; provide baseline risk assessment and COIDA good standing.
• Submission: Both hard-copy and electronic (JDE ESP) submissions; hard copy is the ruling version.
• Clarification/Briefing: Compulsory clarification meeting (19 Oct 2026).
• JV rules: If forming a JV, each party must meet relevant pre-qualifications and provide separate tax PINs.
