Overview

Maintenance of low and medium voltage infrastructure at OR Tambo International Airport – Western Precinct for 36 months, under an NEC3 Term Service Contract. Bidders should hold CIDB contractor grading of 4EB/4EP or higher with LV/MV infrastructure capabilities.

Requirements

• CIDB: 4EB/4EP or higher (as stated for submission eligibility) (RFQ 74168 Western Precinct Maintenance.pdf).
• Key personnel: Electrical Test Technician (Site supervisor) with a National Diploma or higher in Electrical Engineering; Installation Electrician with N4 and wireman’s license (NEC3 TSC data).
• Experience: Electrical Test Technician ≥3 years; Installation Electrician ≥5 years in LV/MV electrical installations, testing, commissioning, maintenance and repairs; CVs required.
• Company evidence: Previous LV/MV infrastructure project references; 3 reference letters max for scoring.
• Tools: VFL cable tester, cable fault locator/thumper, thermal imaging camera (minimum tools required).
• Compliance: Tax compliance via SARS PIN; TCS or CSD numbers if applicable; separate TCS for JV/subcontractors; BBBEE evidence (certificate or sworn affidavit) to claim preference points.
• Other: Functionality threshold of 80/100 to progress to price/preference evaluation; adherence to NEC3 contract terms and risk/insurance provisions.
